Maybe I missed it in these 8 pages, but what kind of case? Does it fit well?

The guitar may have a case now, but I don't expect to see the original case with it, because if it came with the guitar, the instrument would probably not have looked the way it did when Fixit got it!

Just guessing on my part!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hans is (as usual) correct. It's not the original case. But it is a period correct, higher-end, Mark-series case. Fits perfectly.

We've realized that we did not include a date when bidding would close. Rather than drag it out, we'll close the bidding at noon on Tuesday, the 20th.

Thanks, folks.

Holy smokes, what a glorious revival :)
I've never gotten to play one of these grande Guild classicals, but hope to try one out at some point. They look like a lot of fun!

You're in Orlando, and we are out at the other end of the Beachline (SR528). Probably an hour or less away. Come on over while we still have it and you can check it out for yourself!

Oh, nice! My girlfriend is from the West Palm area, so we drive down that way to visit her family every couple of months. Would be great to stop by and meet y'all and the Guild!

Mellow, when would you be going down there? I might be able to arrange for you to have a chance to see the restored Mark before it heads its way up north to its new digs. (wink wink) :)

I guess I'm going to have to learn how to play something other than "Classical Gas," Harry! :)

I couldn't be happier that I will become the custodian of this magnificent guitar as it enters its second lifetime. This is truly an embarrassment of riches for me. Let me just reiterate that It was wonderful to see the LTG community get jazzed up over this incredible restoration. Having met face-to-face all the people who've been involved with this project, I must say that I feel truly blessed.

Actually, Al, I was happy about selling Cap to such a great home. Cap is right next to his 12-string brother from the same flitch of Brazilian (as Hans demonstrated) in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, I was never able to convince the owner to come join us here in LTG-land. Nevertheless, I still get holiday cards from him every year!

The great thing about this Mark (to me) is the LTG connection. It's the best story to be told around here in a long time, and I am thrilled about it.

Congratulations. Now you have an instrument that should inspire you to learn the classical repertoire. You and Mrs. Fro. work up a duet for the LMG Anniversary Reunion?

I've really enjoyed this thread and the photo essay that accompanied it! I love the repaired rosewood back and the professional re-finish. That one is definitely a keeper! And it has a great LTG heritage and provenance. Congratulations!

Folks, I've moved this thread back to A/E so we don't lose all this history and a cool story can live on.

Congratulations Charlie! I was close to pulling the trigger myself, but I really love my Mark V, and didn't want to face down the decision of which one to part with. Very happy that his one is staying in the fold!
