Guild Mark II Classical 1969. New TKL hard case included.

Hoboken Label. I bought this back in the day through the newspaper classifieds. Action is 5/32” at the twelfth fret low e string. 1 21/32”nut. See the pictures. The back of the neck is perfect. Very slight wear top of the headstock. Some light fingernail digs about the area of two quarters below the soundhole. Minor, minor finish flakes at the binding on the lower bout. Other than that, there are no noticeable dings or scratches to speak of on the body. Tight, even grained top.

Since I took the pictures, I have put on new strings. I can still play my college recital piece on this guitar, and that’s about it. I don't know much about the classicals. Pics at:

Shipping charged at cost. I will throw in the original chipboard case, if you want it, for the UPS cost to ship it to you separately. No shipping outside the US, please. Paypal and U.S. Postal Money Orders only, please. 72 hour approval for LTG posters.

Re: Guild Mark II Classical 1969 $350+ TKL or chipboard case

The weather will be breaking any time and I will be willing to ship. I would love to sell it on LTG and make a donation, but if not, its going to AGF and UMGF, and then ebay. Please let me know if there are any questions.

Re: Guild Mark II Classical 1969 $350+ TKL or chipboard case

I have no idea how to appraise the value of a classical guitar like this. Can I get some feedback from the members on this site, please? I could be interested if I had an idea of where to start. I've never owned a classical but have wanted to try one for some time now.

Re: Guild Mark II Classical 1969 $350+ TKL or chipboard case

Shawn, I would say that's a fair price. That's what I paid for my Mark I, with just a chipboard case. They are sweet guitars, undervalued as most Guilds seem to be. I recently purchased a GAD-4N that gets my attention now but for some reason I'm holding onto my Mark I. I think a Mark II would be a good way to get into a nylon guitar. Plus, it's a Hoboken!

It's listed at well below the Blue Book value for a Mark II in average condition, so I say go for it!

I wish I wish I wish I had extra money lying around. :( The only classical I have is a Yamaha, my very first guitar. It would be nice if I had a Guild buddy for it.

"Action is 5/32” at the twelfth fret low e string. 1 21/32”nut."...the action is higher at the nut than the 12th string?....

I believe that's the width of the nut.

Re: Guild Mark II Classical 1969 $350+ TKL or chipboard case

Thanks for your interest. Yes, that's the width at the nut. The action at the nut is comfortable as far as I can tell. I have $75-100 in the hard shell case. I'd rather ship in the hard shell case, but the chipboard case is nice for a collector as it is the original. I am interested in a fair deal and getting this in the hands of someone who will genuinely enjoy it and play it. I believe this is a really nice example of a Mark II. The couple I bought it from raved about it in a very genuine way, but that was a long time ago and I don't remember specifics. They were musicians. I am happy to hear any offers.

Re: Guild Mark II Classical 1969 price drop $299 plus shipping

Ahh man. I really want this! Hopefully my Seagull sells quick so I can swoop in and get this one. I posted a thread (linked below) to see what it was that I should get in my particular and somewhat peculiar case... wasn't sure at first but (with some reassuring and confirming from fellow LTGers) all signs are pointing this way!

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36335

So anyway, after debating for a while and looking obsessively at the photos, I'm sort of in love and hope we'll be able to do business real soon!

Just a note of praise for Dave as a man to do business with -
I've purchased 2 Guilds from him during the past year and both
of them have been every bit of what he claimed and more.
He's great at communications, packing, and more than fair with
his pricing. Don't hesitate to buy from Dave - you won't regret it.
Good luck with the sale, Dave.

Thanks very much Geoff, right back at you. You are too kind.

I’ve collected a number of acoustics, mostly Guilds, over the years, and it’s been a blast. I’ve learned so much, and refined what I want and need. So, it is time to let someone else have them and play them. I enjoy LTG ever day, and would much rather do business with you all than somewheres else. My aim is a fair and happy deal all around. Regards, Dave
