Hello Folks. I think this is my 1st post. I just wanted to share some pics of my 2nd guitar ever: 1983-84 Guild S280. Also, my recently acquired 1991 Guild Pilot Bass with Bartolini pickups.
S280 used to have a crappy Kahler Trem which was replaced with a Gibson Hard Tail. The original Humbucking pups were recently replaced with 1980's Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates (My #1 pickups). This is now a DUAL COIL tap guitar! I can't believe how amazing this guitar sounds. Even the tech who worked on the guitar agreed and urged me to do recordings with this. The combination of Neck Humbucking and Bridge tapped is especially pleasing!
BTW, the more I think about it I believe I bought the S280 in 1983, but one of the Guild dating site has it being made around 1984. I think the information on that site w/ this model is wrong.
Notice the family resemblance? Both are USA made!
