I believe the GF series are a full jumbo with 17" lower bout. This F-47 is a grand orchestra size with 11 1/4" upper bout and 16" low bout, and the depth is around 4 1/2" at the lower bout.
My GF-55 has a 16" lower bout. Upper bout is 11 1/2". Depth at the end block is 5", same as my F-412.I believe the GF series are a full jumbo with 17" lower bout. This F-47 is a grand orchestra size with 11 1/4" upper bout and 16" low bout, and the depth is around 4 1/2" at the lower bout.
I didn't know there was a GF-55. There was a JF-55.My GF-55 has a 16" lower bout. Upper bout is 11 1/2". Depth at the end block is 5", same as my F-412.
A GF-55 is essentially an F-50 with all the bling, but 16" across the lower bout as opposed to 17" for the F-50. there were built in the mid-late 1980's. Mine is an '89 model. Serial number GF55057. Somewhere I read or was told they made only 75 of them.I didn't know there was a GF-55. There was a JF-55.

I’m also seeing an F-50 that came out as a reissue about 10+ years ago that looks like it has a tighter waist on it. Very similar to a Martin J-40 M of which I owned for several years.Aah. We learn something everyday! Thanks.
