Hipshot makes tuners that don't require any screw holes at all to be drilled, and in fact, will cover up the old screw holes. They use the so called UMP (Universal Mounting Plate). The tuners come in sets (6 in-line (no help in this case), and 3X3), sealed and open back (sealed ate 16:1 ratio, open back 18:1). there are a dozen different button options, and in locking and non-locking versions. I used a set on a Squier Strat (open back locking tuners, 6 in-line), and they are very smooth, very stable and well made. They are made in Korea.

In your case, you would want 3X3s, non-locking, in whatever finish (Chrome, Nickel, Gold, or Black), with a button of your choice, and either open or sealed (the open tuners are a little lighter). They are significantly cheaper than most other good quality tuners. They do need 10 mm. post holes.

A pics send me by seller. Orange damaged. If it is not possible to fix it, I buy either new Kluson wafflebacks (they only cost 90 euros) or Waverly (150 euros)

I've used these on a few guitars as well, and though I prefer Gotoh Deltas for their higher tuning ratio, the Hipshots are very good quality, and yes, they mount without screws.

in your opinion the new Kluson waffleback tunings machines are the same size as the vintage ones.

I have no firsthand experience with them, but if you look at the customer comments in the Stew Mac ad, more than one person said they replaced their old "wafflebacks" without modification.

Does anyone know if the design of these tuners ever changed? If not, and if they're all the same, there's a very good chance the Stew Mac replacements will work for you.

If you buy a set, let us know how they work. A number of people here will have them on their Guilds, and for anyone thinking of upgrading it'd be good to know how well (or not!) they work.
