A shop I occasionally visit has just got a D4 12 string in stock. I'm going down to try it over the weekend hopefully, but in the meantime what do you think of this model? I'm not happy with my Taylor 355 and was thinking of maybe doing a straight swap if the owner will let me.
I've just been skimming over some reviews on Harmony Central and the impression I get is that is a basic, unfancy, heavy instrument with a huge sound. Any thoughts?

You won't know until you play it. The D4-12 is not a high end Guild 12er, but you can expect more low end performance from the Guild and probably a boomier response. (If I'm not mistaken, the D4-12 is an archback, without bracing, which provides more projection. If your 355 is anything like mine it is a bit on the tinny side. I keep my 355 here in the office; the Guilds are at home under lock and key... :)

Don't remember welcoming you to LTG yet so I'll do so now... Howdy and welcome aboard!
