Re: 1977 GUILD D-25M RESTORATION - UPDATE #1 ADDED - NECK RESET
 Well, I knew it was happening, But not sure what day, So.....I just woke to SEE THIS on my computer screen!!!! Quite a happy , though a bit scary suprise! and..WHAT AN EYE OPENER!!!!! I told Michael that I might have to look at this with one eye shut........But upon seeing the extent of care and concern that is being taken here, along with his craftsmanship ( THANKS TODD!!) , I can rest much easier. I KNOW she is in good , caring, experienced hands......and these photos ( THANKS AGAIN TODD!!) really support this many times over. I KNOW that she is caring and knowing hands.......I KNOW that we have put her in the right place.
This has been a BIG DEAL in my world....and , from way WAY down here, all I can do is WAIT and WORRY. But Dadthrash and Todd have certainly taken the 'worry factor' out of the equasion, and I am quite happy to WAIT until it is all well and truely done. NO HURRY GUYS!!! But Of COURSE ,....I AM EXCITED!!!
Sooooooo without Worry, nor Wait.....all I can do now is ENJOY THE RIDE. and so....I AM!!!
THIS guitar will mean a great deal to me, and will be MUCH played and enjoyed. Its true, I already feel bonded to the 'old' girl, and cant wait to get ahold of her! ( Yes, there will be teary eyes! but happy and thankful ones!) We have MUCH music to make together!!!! SEEING all this happening before me is a real treat.....Adding greatly to my enjoying and appreciating this whole experience. ( THANKS Michael and Todd!) these photos, ( and all the ones preceeding this ) along with all this correspondence will go into a book that will document this guitars journey to anyone here who would like to see! When I take her to the Pub, Ill show off the photos to alot of the Musicians here who will take great interest in her story. Oh yes!!!!....THIS guitar IS A KEEPER!!! and will likely be my favorite!!
( But...dont tell DV52) I intent to PLAY this guitar silly!
For those of you who dont know.....I have had a serious accident some years ago , resulting in a very debilitating neck injury, that stopped me in my tracks physically, financially, career wise, and in many other ways as well. I do not get out the house much as a result, cant drive, walk with a wobble, etc....and the medication is often as bad as the pain. Some days are better than others....some worse. MUSIC , and PLAYING the guitar.....has been a GREAT HELP in dealing with my pain and loss , depression and disability. On days when I can do little else.... I can at least play the guitar, and Boy, do I play it!!! progress is made in little ways....and so the day is not a waste. Playing the guitar takes me out of the world of pain and loss....and actually cheers me up! I could not imagine going through all that I have been through WITHOUT the aide of MUSIC, and playing my guitars. In many ways they have made the difference.....and continue to do so. I cannot speak highly enough of the HEALING powers of music and song......I am a living example. I FEEL IT, I KNOW it! I am LIVING example of it!
The people that I have met, through this making of music.....They too have added much to my life....and made a positive difference. ALL are Blessings indeed. I KNOW that too!
THIS guitar......and all the goodness and the acts of kindness that already surround it, and have been shown to me in relation to it is SO VERY APPRECIATED by ME and my family.....words escape me now. Suffice to say.....I am feeling VERY fortunate to found you good folks at LTG, found Dadthrash, found THIS Guitar, having Todd repair and renew her, ......and eventually to one day have her here at my home. Alot of care and kindness , good old 'human decency" go with this guitar, I can fell THAT already!!! Some guitars can become 'members of the family'.......this one certainly WILL. And,... like a new member coming to the family,....her arrival will be marked with great joy and THANKS!
Enough of my ramblings..... back to the job at hand. Not much I can add....except WOW! I am VERY impressed by ALL that i see! Dadthrash and i, We had a laugh some weeks ago......both this guitar AND I are in dire need of a NECK RESET!!! At least NOW she is getting hers!!!!
Thank you all for looking in and your contributions here, they are much appreciated. And GREAT THANKS to Michael and Todd ( and the folks at Fretworks) ....You guys are making this a truely wonderful, all around experience. What you are doing , and have already done.....IS making such a difference all around.
I THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!
