I'm thinking about replacing the bridge pins on some of my acoustics. I would most likely get them from Bob Colosi's site:

http://www.guitarsaddles.com/

I'm thinking Fossilized walrus ivory bridge saddle, nut, and pins for my D55.
Perhaps something else for my D30's.

Can anyone tell me what size bridge pins fit a Guild D55 made in Westerly? Also what is the width of the bridge saddle?

Check out Bob's gallery for some photos showcasing his products. Like this:

They are pricey, but isn't "She" worth it??

Hey DS,

I'm in the process of getting a saddle and pins from Bob for my newest F47.

Bob has asked that I send all 6 pins to him along with the saddle because Guild used different sizes and configurations he doesn't have a standard fit for them.

As for the fossilized walrus. Stunning!

I think my D55 is well worth the expense of upgrading the pins/saddle/nut. I'm looking at those double-inlayed FWI pins thinking they would look great on the D55. The Ebony/abalone inlays would match the FB and bridge beautifully.

Perhaps I can use the stock pins from the D55 on one of my D30's.

I'm also thinking of upgrading my Gibson J185 and AJ as well.

This can get costly. Imagine how much it would be to upgrade the pins on a 12-string!!
I've got 2 12-strings. I think I'll hold off on upgrading them for now.

I've found pins and saddle can make a difference to my ear, slight but noticeable (a subjective thing....) You might also consider slotting the bridge so that you can use unslotted pins. I did that to my DV-4 and bought a set of nice bone unslotted pins from Bob that have worked out so very well.
