always good to see this one, even after all these years.

Oh, so true! RIP, Eva!

Thanks, RBpicker.

You know, as an aside, this is such a beautiful song... Iz also made a signature, defining piece out of it. I wonder if the makers of Wizard of Oz had any idea how powerful this song would be and how long it would live on!!!

(can you see the tears streaming down my face?)

Dang, I've got a work meeting in 5 minutes. Gotta straighten myself out!
We should have warned you.
I can't listen to this, or to Iz, without tearing up.
First time I heard Eva sing it, I was a blubbering mess.

I'm glad it's not just me, guys. I was gonna blame it on allergies...

I know this is a total veer and we've discussed this before elsewhere, but there are just some songs that pull at the heartstrings. This one is, for me, my all-time biggest sob provoker. I can't listen to it or sing it without losing my composure. Maybe it's the choir in the background, or the fantastic dynamic changes that drive me over a cliff. Whatever... the song hits home, just like Over the Rainbow

We at LTG rediscover Eva Cassidy about every six months. That is presumably because of her choice of guitars. I wonder how often she is discovered by people who have no particular interest in guitar brands? What do people search for, besides "Guild" that lead them to her?
(It could be argued that if you have an interest in the DC music scene of the 90's you will eventually find her as well but what else is she connected to that leads people to find her? Maybe her music is still in rotation on a lot of platforms?)

Okay here we go.... two that we've lost. Christine McVie wrote this song and Eva did it like no one ever could.... missing my girls..... sigh.

Eva had a wonderful voice, a marvelous instrument, which she used so beautifully.
Wow.
