I was checking out this performance of Queens of the Stone Age at the 2023 Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel, Germany on youtube. When the camera panned across the stage on the opening tune, I saw this unlikely duo of Guild Maverick bass amps and what is probably a Thunderbird bass cab.

I'm not sure if Josh Homme or the bass player is using them, but I'm guessing the bass player. The Thunderbird bass cab is miked, while only one of the blue amps is mic'ed. The second is probably a backup. IIRC, these have 15" speakers in them. Not sure if they were 25 or 60 watts. Pretty cool and uncommon to see these make it onto a modern stage at a festival.

I think it's Michael Shuman's bass rig. There are some other pics of him with it on stage in this article and a few words about it.

Years back I acquired a Mav Bass amp. I assumed I could install a guitar 15 in speaker like a JBL D130 to get a full tone amp with improved bottom end and pair it up with a Mav guitar amp with a pair of 10 in speakers.
To my surprise I noticed the amp didn't have the upper frequency response like the Mav guitar amp.
That surprised me. I often wondered if Guild intentionally rolled off the upper frequencies in the circuit layout but never looked into it. No longer have the amp so just speculating.
The 7591A power tubes are my favorite for an aggressive distortion tone at moderate volume levels.

Here's an inexpensive beauty.

What's even better is GAD's review of this model
