I'm offering up my Guild 1972 F-40 arched maple back. Body depth at lower bout is 4 7/8" and the width is 16". The nut is 1 11/16ths. The guitar was completely gone over by Tom Jacobs (Mr. Fixit) of Merritt Island, Florida (Jacobs Custom Guitars) -- the preferred luthier of many of the LTGers. Tom did a neck reset, refret, reglued the bridge, and installed bone nut and bone saddle and bone "Paris Eye" bone bridgepins, plus buffed and polished. The pickguard is lifting. I think Tom didn't glue it down properly. It can be easily fixed. The guitar has a pickup installed. I don't know the brand. I bought this guitar from Richard Petersen who had sent it to Tom Jacobs for rehab. I just installed GHS Silk and Bronze Medium Light .012 - .054 strings on the guitar. It is really sings! . This F-40 belongs to the best design of this particular model, i.e., arched back maple goodness. I can do a Zoom demo. Please PM me if interested.
I paid $2,200 for it, and will take $1,400 + shipping cost. A steal!
P.S. The price reflects the cost of the detailed, excellent work Tom Jacobs did on this guitar to bring it into excellent shape.
