The D60 in my sig came from a LTG forum'ite. The pics ahead of the sale and description, then the packing was all perfect. The guitar did have a very few cosmetic issues, all well detailed. I could have lived with the "issues" as it did not effect playability in any way. In fact one luthier I took the guitar to said "do nothing, leave it be". But, I decided to get another opinion. This luthier used to do repair work for Gibson, when they were based in Kalamazo. His home here in Florida is a virtual museum of old, odd, stringed instruments. Literally hundreds hang from the walls of every room in the house. Old parlors, harp guitars, mandos, ukes, zithers, banjos, etc., etc..
So the two issues I wanted him to tackle were a very small ding on the top and some chatter marks from a earlier binding repair on the neck.
Here is the top ding pre-repair.
And the top post repair. The ding is still very slightly visible, but the top is perfectly smooth. Beautiful job. Drop filled with lacquer, sanded and polished smooth.
The neck binding was the bigger challenge. The chatter marks were on both sides of the neck, more of an issue on the bass side.
Pre repair
Post repair. Filled with super glue and a stain, sanded and polished . Perfectly smooth and 100% invisible.
I'll also add, this guitar just impresses me more and more every day. Looks fabulous and amazing tone. I've had the good fortune to play some very nice dreads. This stands with the best of 'em!!
