Well, the drama surrounding the broken fingerboard on the GAD F212E has been resolved, and Guild stepped up to the plate. First, the long delay for resolve can be explained simply as "miss communication". It seems the pictures sent by Guitar Guys got lost, so they sent new ones. From those pictures, Guild determined that the broken board was not due to the lefty conversion. Second, to make it right, they are replacing the guitar but not with a F212E....a JF30-12 instead. (at no cost to me)
I take back my ill-feelings and won't be purchasing a Taylor. I'll be strumming a Guild 12 with the sweetness of maple syrup.
Thank God!!
YeeeHaw.....

Great news.

FYI, the GADJF3012 is a nice beastie. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I assume you're getting a lefty conversion on it?? Is Guild helping you with that?

I'm going to call Guitar Guys as soon as they open about the lefty conversion. I received an e-mail from one of the owners last night and just read this morning. I hope!!

Can't wait to hear and see the results.

Strip that weird-ass GAD pickguard off and find a NOS Guild lefty one, AB (or go au-naturale). That'd be an awesome way to go!

Sounds like Fender ( Guild ) is finally stepping up to the plate and getting better with customer relations -i know of a dealer who stopped selling Guilds because Fender is so hard to deal with ( or was )- and they took forever to correct any problems .Maybe this turn around will restore dealer confidence again !

Im also glad you didnt get a Taylor 12 string -Im not a big fan of their 12 strings !

yeah, I'm glad I'm not going in debt for a Taylor. The 855 I had had great action but I was never impressed with the tone, plus it washed out when I got percussive. The F212E that is being replaced was a stellar guitar, tone wise and it held up under percussive strumming, though the action was a tad high, it wasn't bad for a twelve string.
I know I'll be a happy camper with the JF30-12 upgrade....I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting for a bike.
