Today was the day, I got my first Moderna Covid shot. Gotta say it went unbelievably smooth. Rural area, plenty of staff, organized and had it down pat! We were met at the door by a nurse with a standard medical form to fill out. We had it previously filled out. She brought the form to another nurse. Seconds later my name was called, in I went, rolled up the sleeve and received the shot. I did not feel a thing. From the time I entered the clinic until I received the shot was less than 2 minutes. Then we were led to another area where we waited for 15 minutes to make sure we had no reaction. Less than 20 minutes we were in and out.

I was on the fence about getting the shot, leaning towards not having it done. But, I have 2 young innocent grandchildren, who I haven't seen in a year. I would hate to be responsible for giving them the Covid. I know my son probably would not let me in his house if I didn't, I can't blame him. So at least for me, I know I did the right thing.

Getting my first this Thursday - weather permitting. Getting for same basic reasons - been a year since we have seen our two sons and their families. Would hate to have Covid but hate worse to give it to sons, daughters in laws, or grandsons.
Cannot imagine getting in, getting shot, and out in 20 minutes with 15 minutes of that being waiting in case of a reaction.
Sounded super organized.
I will be ushered through and never get out of the car.
Step one --- ID
Step two --- directed to one of four lines
Step three --- recheck ID and get shot
Step four --- get card with date for second shot
Step five --- get into assigned car line and wait 15 minutes for reaction

Released.
I like the way yours was organized much better. Hour at best!

Good on both of you. I'll get mine as soon as I'm eligible. Since I've had the virus, they won't vaccinate us until it's 90 days past the infection. So about mid-March for us. I can't wait. I'm not sure life will ever go back to the way it was before, but it sure can be better than staying home all the time. There's life out there to live...... (y)(y)

My arm's a little sore but nothing bad at all. Funny thing on the way home, I said to my wife, I can feel a little soreness in my arm, but then I realized it was the other arm that I got the shot.

One other thing when we got home, I had a two hour solid nap. But, I think that was from our celebratory lunch at a Mexican Restaurant; no adult beverages today.:(

Stu, not that I forgot, but you reminded me, not only have I not seen my grandkids, I have not seem my 3 kids in a year either with the exception of the oldest daughter. My kids are spread out, daughter in Philadelphia, son in Atlanta and daughter in Cincinnati. We're in northern NH and GA in the winter. We talk to them by Facetime and read to the grandkids pretty much every week....they love it.

Congrats! I got my second Pfizer shot a couple weeks ago. (Rural area, apparently they had more vaccine than priority 1a people who wanted it.) I had no bad reaction on either shot. The logistics of the first shot did not go smoothly, though. Had to wait in a line outside in 30 degree weather for about an hour. I didn't have an appointment but just got a text to show up. Nevertheless, I was glad to get the shot. The second shot was a breeze, though. I had an appointment, so there was no waiting. (If there had been, it would have been inside.) So I'm feeling fairly relieved. But not immortal. 👍

You can still catch and spread covid even after the vaccine.
Vaccine only helps your body create antibodies so your personal symptoms will be less/non-existant should you get it.

At this time in my state (MD) the governors website says that the federal government is supplying our state with 12,000 doses a day for the 2 million eligible people. So getting a covid vac appt. will be like getting struck by lightning for now it appears.

My elderly mother lives in another state, and as much as I would like to visit, she also needs to be vaccinated before I can visit her safely ( she says she is not sure she wants the vaccine at this time , hmmmmm..................:ROFLMAO:).
I am in the 1a group here in Howard County, MD and still waiting after over a month of being registered. I also registered in PG county, as I work there, but on the waiting list too.

Wow. I guess population density might have something to do with it. Maryland has 622 per square mile. Idaho has 21 per square mile.

Got my second Moderna shot last Friday. Took about 6-7 hours before I felt like I had been "sitting in a chair too long" which was probably true having read all day, but then at 67 I have sorta felt like that anyway. Next day (Saturday) felt somewhere between having taken a Flexoril the night before (that half-hangover washed-out feeling) and also that I had shoveled snow way too much the day before...which of course I hadn't. Not really "sick," just sort of sore and out-of-sorts. About 4:00 AM the next morning I wake up soaked...I mean SOAKED! Had to change sheets on the bed! But, the fever I didn't know I had must have broken and I felt wonderful...well, as good as I usually feel, the next morning and that was that ;)

Arm where second shot was given looks fine, no redness or rash, but there is a slight tenderness and lump there...

Finally landed an appointment for my first shot, scheduled for tomorrow.

Now, if I can just get out of my driveway... :censored:
