well I've had her 20 years now.

I bought a Seymour Duncan sh 2-n and a pearly gates bridge pup.
I think I'll have the phase toggle changed to a coil tap.
I changed the three way switch to a blend knob with center detent just after purchase, I think I'll keep it that way. Maybe get some new knobs, though.

On a whim I bought some elixer strings. seems people love 'em or hate 'em, so I'll try 'em.

Spent a good portion of Boxing Day playing mine:

The coil tap switch is in the push-pull tone pot on this model.

Only mods I'd make to this would (will) be to add a push-pull switch on the volume pot, so that I can have a kill switch as well - just hate remembering that I've forgotten to unplug the guitar, in time to realize that I'm out of 9V batteries because I've forgotten so often before.

Do love the guitar, Seymour-Duncans and all.

oooooooooh. I'd trade my kid for that.

Maybe I could try the push pull for the coil tap.

Hi All

I've also removed the EMG's and installed Seymour’s, SH2 & 4. When I first purchased
my Nightbird I contacted Kim Walker who worked for Guild at the time when mine was built.

http://www.walkerguitars.com

Kim informed me the first one made had Seymour’s, but along come Krammer mid 80's using Seymour’s so the pickups were then hard to source hence the switch to EMG....
I am a fan of EMG pickups but the SH2 and 4 I think are the best combination for a Nightbird.
