I'm selling this GAD30, purchased in April 2014 from LTG member killdeer43 (Joe). I bought it as an experiment, to see how I liked a 1.75-inch wide nut on a six-string guitar. I liked it enough that I've since purchased a nice rosewood Taylor with similar nut width, & it is getting more playing time than this pretty GAD30.

A nice example of the GAD instruments, & Joe gave it a cosmetic facelift by installing a "real" Guild pickguard. I believe that Joe also moved the strap button from the side of the upper bout, to his preferred location on the heel. You can see a filled hole from the former strap-button location in one or two of my photos.

There are two minor dings. One on the back of the headstock, & a very small one on the soundboard (circled in light blue on a close-up photo). There are also two scratches on front of the headstock, adjacent to the A-string tuner. Minor wear on the first three frets, most visible under the B string.

Twelfth-fret action is currently 7/64-inch on the bass side, & 6/64-inch on the treble side. The saddle has considerable height visible above the bridge, so there is plenty of room to lower the action if the next owner wishes to do so. Very pretty wood binding & a wood heel cap, too.

Currently strung with a recent D'Addario EXP16 set (light-gauge coated phosphor bronze). A surprisingly loud guitar (for its size), with a pleasant tone for such an economical & compact guitar. I find the string spacing easy for fingerpicking.

Price lowered 8/24/15 to $300 plus shipping, in the lower 48. Three-day trial period . . . return it if not satisfied, & you're only out the two-way shipping expense.

I really like that little guitar and if I weren't in the middle of a car-shopping Sunday, I'd ask you to just send it back. Alas, Cindy needs a new ride.

*For anyone who might be interested, this is a great fingerpicker and one of the 'good' GAD models.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Joe, if Cindy really cares about you, she will opt for a slightly less-fancy car, thereby leaving you funds to buy back this guitar. :chuncky:

Looks nice with the right pick guard on it! Never understood the half triangle guards on those early GADs... Especially since they had so many other nice features like the bone nut / saddle, wood binding, a little more weight, grovers, etc.. I can't imagine this will last long at such a solid price point!!!

Geoguy - I notice you have a CV Tele... I built a Tele with a new CV neck and I am doing the same with an old Japanese squire strat that the neck is trashed.. In my humble opinion those Classic Vibes are pretty hard to beat... Super fun to play..

I found this one but she didn't seem interested.....

Go figure,
Joe

She's a wise woman, Joe. That truck looks like it might need a new clutch.

@D30Man - Yes the CV tele is a fun little guitar. Super skinny neck takes a little getting-used-to, though.

Thanks for looking at this GAD, everybody.

Canada .... brrr
Does it have a decent case? Now if the ex agrees to my terms of separation this might be the perfect gift for self ...

Yes it does have a case. My apologies, I neglected to post a photo of the case yesterday. It is in very good shape, with only a couple of light scuffs on the brown trim that surrounds the case lid.

All latches work fine on this case. It is covered in a light-olive colored tweed, with red-brown trim.

Here's a photo:

Joe...that p/u might be just the thing for my son...alas, it would probably reside in my back yard! (He recently dropped the rear driveshaft out of his '53 Dodge ex-military M37 while out on an evening ride :miserable:)

Merlin...while sometimes denigrated on this board, I had a similar case with my GAD30PCE and it was nice, performed well and while in the hands of my brother has not had any issues...that GAD30 looks to be a nice piece.

Is this still available? That's a real purty one and a nice case to boot!

And I just replied . . . short story is that there is one other person in front of you, & I'll let you know what he decides.

Thanks for your interest!

Sounds good. If it doesn't work out I have tomorrow evening in the area and could meet halfway.
