Anybody use one?
How do they compare to my Shubb capo's?
While I like my Shubb capo's, I always have to retune once I put the capo on.
I've heard that this is not an issue with the G7.
Am considering purchasing one and would love to hear comments first.

Thanks, sorry for the wasted post. I figured out how to use the search after I posted this.
I checked the G7th wedsite and FAQ section, I felt they danced around a little bit on the question about it hurting nitro finishes. It might not, It probably won't, but...don't leave it on for extended periods of time.
NOTE: I had a martin D18GE that I left in a stand overnight and when I picked it up, it had a bare spot down to the wood on the back of the neck. The stand was some kind of foam rubber "to protect the finish" yeah right.
I'm still gonna wait to see if anyone else has had finish damage first.
thanks for the reply.

I've had the same thing happen with a couple of stands that I have. Fortunately, I checked them regularly and disovered some small spots in the finish before they actually deteriorated the finish. Thank God they rubbed right out. I don't use those stands anymore, but have considered covering the portion of the stand that contacts the finish with with cotton.

I've only had my G7th for a short time, and believe me, I watch like a hawk for effects on the finish. I only leave it on for as long as it takes to play a song, and wipe the neck after use. Fine so far, but I'll continue to watch.

BTW, the seller that I bought mine from recently relisted some G7ths. The best price I could find was $40 or higher. This cat had a shipping charge of $13 which I thought was pricey, but a starting bid of $19.99. $33 anyway you slice it. He had 6 available at the time.

Darryl,

If you're referring to high school baseball, we went 2 and out in bi-district. A little overconfident I think, along with some team chemistry problems.

:) Let's get back on track here. I just bought a G7 from the same Ebay seller as West. The shipping is pretty high at $13 but I paid $23.00 for the capo. The lowest I've seen was around the high $30's ffom MF & then you had tp pay postage on that unless you bought over $99. I've been curious about these things so when I get it, I'll post my opinion.

Mine took a bit of getting used to Jake. I like it, just not sure it's worth 3 times the cost of a Shubb.

I've had a G7 for a few months. As West says, it takes some getting used to. Nice capo, works well on 6 or 12 string. Definitely overpriced. I've never had a Shubb, I just ordered one from MF.

Yep Jake, That listing was a bit deceiving with the $13 shipping, but I figured with the shipping and the bid price, heck it was $33 any way you sliced it. Still $7 to $10 cheaper than anyone else I found.

There're good capos. The nicest looking anyway.

Yea West, great price but high shipping. But like you say, it is the lowest price I've seen so far. I've been using the Kyser capos for the last 9 years.

Back when... I had a dotted red cloth elastic thing called a capo. It was a piece of junk compared top what is out now days. Funny thing is that all these years of "playing" :? , I never new how to use one untill about 3-4 years back. Untill then, I would just capo up, make some nice sounding noise & be happy.

One nite I was sitting on my patio & all of a sudden things started to come to me on using a capo. It took me a few more nites of making a cord, trying to find what it was, & then the other chords that went with it.

So, instead of just using a capo to make nice noise, I know know where to put the damn thing on the fretboard so I know what noise I'm making. 8)
