G shield inlay work

I reviewed some Taylor videos online recently and was marveling at the efficiency and accuracy of the laser and computer driven production techniques. Got me to wondering how much time it took on average to complete the handmade inlay work for the G shield and/or the Chesterfield logo found on the headstock of our guitars. Curious also as to how many hours it took to complete a top notch Westerly Guild flat top vs how many hours to complete a comparable Taylor or Martin today.

Either way, the Chesterfield has the G shield beaten hands-down.

I would have no idea about how long it took those talented folks to complete a G-shield inlay. Here is a link that shows the process for hand inlaying. Thought some might find it interesting.
