Hi Gang,

Regrettably I have decided to sell my Westerly JF65-12. I purchased this about a year ago and had one of Seattle's top luthiers do a professional neck reset and add Gotoh mini 510 tuners. The sound is big and bold but I have just come to the conclusion the guitar neck is simply too big for my hand and my short stubby fingers! It comes with the original hard shell case. Email or PM me for pictures as I'm not sure how to add them here. Price $1250 plus shipping. I am able to accept credit cards through my business if needed. Thanks for looking. Cheers - Mark

Looks really nice, Mark. Sorry it's not comfortable for you. Good luck with the sale.

Just curious, was there other work done to it besides the neck reset? Were the cracks ever fixed?

Yes, I had everything fixed while it was in the shop including a few small cracks, frett work and a complete professional buff/polish. I think the final bill was around a grand.

Trying once again to see if there is any interest in this jf65. I really don't have an issue with it living in un-played solitude in my closet, but I'd like to avoid any possible bad guitar karma by allowing it to find a new home. $1500 is a great buy on this guitar.

My '91 is a CANNON.

These are really great guitars.

Guys who don't have a JF65-12 will never appreciate how BIG a guitar's sound can be. Fills a room and washes over everybody with huge waves of sound. If you cornered me, though, I'd have to call the guitar in the pics a 412. No abalone rosette. Why's that, do you reckon?

Hello charliea,

Must admit that these model names do get a little confusing but the difference between an F-412 and an JF-65-12 is not so much about the specs. but the time period during which they were made.
The F-412 model designation was discontinued during 1987 and the guitar became the JF-65-12.
This particular guitar is from 1990, so it's a JF-65-12 and the abalone rosette was introduced at a much later date.

Sincerely,

Thanks, Hans. You need to get writing on that second volume so we can research stuff like this! One way or the other, I'm surprised it's still sitting here at that price.

I'm really surprised nobody's walked away with that, times must be truly hard. If I wasn't on another continent I'd be on your doorstep with my tongue hanging down to the doormat. Looks lovely, somebody's gonna get a deal...
