It pains me to do this because this guitar was my first ever Guild, but I have decided to move on to another one. I am going to try and pickup either a D40 or another Starfire.

I am the second owner of this Guitar. I have had it approx 7 months and before me it was just sitting in the case for 7 years. The owner had barely played and it shows. There is the usual but very minor playwear, a little scratch here or there but nothing that will show up in the pics. Fret are a 9/10 if not a 9.5. Almost all of the original saddle height left and the action is nice and low and smooth. Great warm D25 tone. The guitar has been setup by the best luthier in my area with Elixir Lights. LTG User Eastcoastbuzz has seen and played this guitar and also uses the same luthier I do. I have had no complaints whatsoever with this guitar.

I'd like to get $500 + shipping but will consider best offers/trades (+3% if using paypal). You won't be disappointed with this guitar. I can't stress enough how much I hate to get rid of it.
Figured I would list it here before I go the Ebay route.

**note the mark on the pickguard in photos 1-2 is just a glare and the pickguard does not have a big mark on it as it appears to. Also, the back has the same rich Mahogany color as the front but the pic came out less bright**

I had a feeling that this one was going to be up on the block soon once the '97 rolled in. Good luck.

Haha, well, I love this guitar, but like everyone else I have a bad case of the Guild GAS and I am already looking forward to that next fix! Thanks!

This is the same thing I hear from other D25 Corona owners and the main reason why I chose this guitar when I bought it, so many positive testimonials about it.

Mojo I honestly can't understand why you'd want to replace one flatback 'hog dread with another..especially when you have such a nice one already. I've never been able to figure out if there's any real difference 'tween a D40 and a flatback D25 other than trim. Maybe something about bracing I don't know about? That's about all I can think of...In fact if anyone here can enlighten me I'd be grateful! This from a Corona D40 owner!

Al,

Wouldn't a Spruce top make a difference? I guess there were some flatback D25s with Spruce tops, but probably not many of them.

I'd most likely opt for a Starfire IV first, then a D40...just depending on what I could locate in the best condition and price. You make a good point though, this D25 may be my favorite one I have ever played of the dozen or so I have played.

The more I think about it, i'd probably be more likely to sell the D25AB I got just a month or so ago before the D25M, which I never thought I would be saying that....!

Sell the Tele. It'll be a lot easier to replace later. Seriously.

you are right about that, but my only "project" I am planning to work on is building a custom Tele and I was going to use the tuners, electronics (minus pickups), switches, knobs etc, then sell the neck, body, pups and remaining parts.

I just...love my Telecaster! and it is easier to play late at night sitting on the bed than the Starfire. I should probably go ahead and part it out but the body, neck and bridge and pickups I want are all going to be expensive...I plan to use Kinman pickups and Glendale bridge and saddles.

And truthfully, at this point I think I am actually going to hold off and keep both my D25's. I can't bare to let go of my first Guild even if it is just a Corona made D25, this guitar is the best one I have ever played to be honest.

OK I can relate to that one. Same thing with my D25. How quietly can I play at midnight so as not wake up the neighbors? A real technique builder, ya gotta play clean AND quiet. Very satisfying...
