Dude you got it bad. I'm thinkin' quarantine time for you. Maybe even intervention.

He's doing better than some others around here have!
Why we gotta get to him early. Before there's any irrepairable organic damage. The only thing that saved me was I only fooled around with the new stuff. It's harder to get hooked.

can I take my Guilds with me? and which BFF does Paris have with her? Hopefully not the skinny girl that is Lionel Ritchie's daughter!

but the B90 was an impulse buy and I now realize, I need a vintage M75! Must have!

Buy a Harley instead. That's why I bought my D25. The "True American" logo was the next best thing I could get. It screamed "Made in USA". See, you think I don't know what you're going through...

That word you keep using. I do not think it means what you think it means...

Mojo - you are an inexhaustible source of GAS entertainment! Can't wait to see pix of the M75, should it come to pass.

I have to say though, as we talk about a guitar's natural sound and its pickups' sound, that the question of your amp's sound should also be part of the equation. I bought myself a cheap little Vox Valvetronix 15 so I could get a better sense of how each of my guitars interacts with different amp models. Some really bring out the bluesbird and/ or starfire's tone, and some don't, and my Strat is its own beast entirely. One thing the experimental process has taught me is that the amp and settings you are using can really define the sound, be it shrill or muddy, of the guitar (as you hear it). I plan to use what I glean from these experiments as a starting point for trying out and buying my next tube amp.

I guess what I'm thinking is you should keep the P90 and buy the M75, and buy a few new amps, and then quit your job so you have time to mess with them all day, every day. I'm guessing you'll find plenty of great tones! Keep us posted!

AGlo, I just got the B90 back and the changed pups really made the difference, they have the tone I was hoping for from a set of P90's!

My amp woes should be solved for a while though, a friend of mine is letting me borrow his Carr Rambler and that will take care of all my amp needs.

If I had an option to buy the M75 and keep the B90 I'd be all about that! But sadly I am going to have to sell the B90 in order to make the M75 a reality. Going to go check out the M75 on Saturday though so maybe it wont pan out like expected.

Just finished playing the B90 for about an hour and seriously anyone looking for a monster set of P90's the answer is Mojotone Classic Wound. These things have exactly the tone I was looking for.

Carr Rambler is a great amp, so long as that's the only sound you're looking for. :)

I did the boutique amp thing, then I bought a Vox VT30. That opened my eyes to good modeling, and now I have an Axe-FX. :)

You can read about my VT30 discoveries here if you're interested: http://www.gad.net/Blog/2010/07/20/vox- ... mp-review/

I've owned a pile of boutique and vintage amps. I'm constantly surprised how good the Axe-FX sounds - and FEELS!

I figure since I am going to be using the Carr for FREE for a year or so that'll give me time to find a little Silvertone or Valco amp. Ideally I'd like to get a 5w Swart AST amp, I love those little things.

Keeping it. New pups made it unreal. No more doubting this one.
