First, I'd just like to say "Hi" to everyone in Guildland. I've been a member for a while, but I don't post much, but I usually really enjoy the conversations here. Thanks for the entertainment!

Anyway, my name is Dave, and I have a confession to make . . . I'm a Guildaholic. (I think this is the right support group . . . ?) Last week another Guild followed me home, and as you probably guessed, I had to keep her. I probably shouldn't have, but I just can't help myself. Finances are getting tight, so the inevitable consequence of my actions is staring me in the face . . . I have to let one of my babies go (you can't keep them all . . . :( ). My only consolation is the fact that an LTGer would provide the best possible home for her, and she will be appreciated and loved. So . . . . .

Up for reluctant sale is my 1999 Westerly manufactured Guild Bluesbird (serial number CL001733). I bought her about 2 years ago, and she is in fantastic condition. There are no scratches, dings, or chips anywhere. The headstock is perfect, and there are no cracks or chips in the binding on the fretboard or around the body. The tuners, bridge, and tailpiece have no corrosion, and the pickup covers have very light tarnish marks. (What is the deal with these pup covers? It seems like every BB I see has this issue.)

The fretboard block inlays have lots of swirl and "depth" to them, and the frets themselves are 98% and are nicely crowned with no divots or flat spots. The rosewood board is flawless.

The most unique and interesting thing about this guitar is her top. It is very 3-dimensional, and the figuring changes depending on the light source and the angle of sight. From one direction, the top looks quilted, and from another, it looks like it has a mixed flame pattern. Very unique. Check out the interesting figuring that traverses the neck pickup!

The only items not original are the nut and the control knobs (obviously). But in a way, I think the gold top hats actually look richer than the clear Guild knobs (which I don't have).

When I first got this guitar, she had lots of fret buzzing, so I had the nut replaced with one made from bone, dressed and polished the frets, and adjusted the intonation (it was way off). She now plays very well and the neck is nearly perfectly straight. It may need a bit more relief now that the weather is changing. The truss-rod has been lubricated and is fully functional.

She comes with the original HSC, which is also in very good condition. The outside has some minor scuffing, but the inside is spotless with no strange smells. I even have the original key that goes to the locking latch.

I have some additional photos I can email to interested members.

I am asking $1150.00 plus shipping and insurance as I think that's fair market price for what she is. Please help her find a good home.
