PRICE REDUCED - NOW $650!
Came across this one a while back in need of a little TLC, and had it tended to. The guitar is now very well sorted, and needs nothing other than a good home. As many here feel, this is one of the the coveted all mahogany arch back models that were only made from 1973-1975, and it's got a lot of cool 40+ year old mojo.
On the face shot, you can see some very mild hazing of the nitro finish. My luthier buffed it up as best he could, but was reluctant to do anything more extreme. It's much more apparent in this shot (bright sunlight). In any other light it's indiscernible.
This was one of the earliest arch back models, being made in the middle of 1973, and even says it on the label. Same "Made in USA" label my D50 has.
This guitar has had a neck reset some time before I bought it, and while I was having the bridge re-glued, I upgraded the saddle and bridge pins to bone. As you can see, there's a very tall saddle with plenty of room to lower the action if need be in the future.
The guitar was set up while the other work was being done, and the action is a low 3/32" on the bass side, and 5/64" on the treble side. Frets were polished and have quite a bit of meat on them.
The back has a few areas of missing finish, and there is a small chunk of the headstock missing north of the the D string post. there's also some finish damage on the very top. That's about it for damage. The top is remarkably ding and crack free for a guitar of this age.
The original three on a plate tuners have been cleaned and lubed, and turn freely. The guitar stays in tune very well. Additionally, there is an under saddle transducer installed that works fine, and the guitar sounds very good plugged or unplugged. This is really a great example of a D25, and I'd be keeping it if it had a 1 3/4" nut. Included is a new hard shell case.
Price is $700 plus actual shipping charges via FedEx Ground to the lower 48. Ask me about other places. This represents pretty much what I have into it so I'm not very flexible on the price. Checks and Money Orders are much preferred, as I'd rather not eat any PayPal fees. 72 hour examination period fine.
