A few years ago, I got a used 1974 Guild D-40 that needed some work as a project guitar. I was going to use it to learn how to repair guitars but I never got around to doing anything with it and I know that I never will. It has been sitting here in my basement and I want it to move on. I thought of taking it to a luthier for repair but I doubt I would ever play it so now I am looking to get it to someone who might like it and do something with it.
The finish is rough but in good kind of way. There is a gouge in the top but it does not go all the way through. There are no cracks in the wood. It needed a new bridge. The old bridge has been removed and I have a new Guild bridge for it. The fretboard will need some smoothing and it needs at least some frets. It also needs a new set of tuners. I am not sure if iot needs a neck reset or not.
Other than that, it's perfect! : tongue:
It comes with a generic hardshell case.
I live in Bucks County, Pa., just north of Philly. I really don't want to get into shipping this guitar anywhere but I would be glad to meet you anywhere in Philly area if you would like this guitar.
Just let me know if you want it and plan to do something with it. The first person who wants to meet me will get it.
Thanks,
Jim
