Beautiful flame maple on the sides and back. Congratulations!
I agree, that is kind of the cherry on top. I had no idea that was there until I went to see the guitar and purchase it. When I saw that I thought 'oh my that is something'!As everyone has already said, that guitar is AMAZING! But am I really the first one to comment on that riveted music store tag? That thing is SO AWESOME.
Yes!Kind of like LTG if you ask me.
Thanks, Marty, that's great!Aside from the miracle find itself, I looked up the music store on the plate, and the family business is going strong today! They have operations in 9 cities across the area.

Another full-circle moment when they mentioned they have a Yamaha piano gallery as one of their speciality locations. I bet they would love to see this guitar in the shop again. That plate alone says something about how they do business, but their core values speak volumes:

Wow, nice. Awesome findStumbled across a 1953 Guild X 375 the other day.
Everything works. Bought it.
Serial number 1175. Great shape, with the original case with a riveted metal tag from the music store that sold it.
They texted me back their email last evening and this morning I sent them this email with some photos attached:MartyG I just sent them a message on their website asking for an email so I can send them photos of the guitar and case.
"Good morning ...
Just this week I found and purchased a 1953 Guild X-375 guitar. Besides the overall great condition of the guitar, I was pleased to find, when I went to look at it, that the (apparently) original hard shell case a tag from your Hanover, PA store riveted to the side of the case. The case does show some wear after 70 years, of course, but has kept this gorgeous and iconic (the 175th Guild ever built in their first year of production) guitar protected for all that time. So as a way of thanking you for offering top quality instruments and accessories, without which this 70 year old guitar would almost certainly be much worse for wear, I wanted to send you this note and some attached photos of the guitar and case, and give you permission to use any and/or all of this message in your marketing and literature.
PS ... the two things most noticed by people with whom I share these photos is #1 your tag and #2 the seeming ornate spoon handle bracket for the pickguard.
Thanks again."
Unfortunately 7 hours or so, so I won't be going anytime soon. But that could change depending on their reaction to the email. How far are you from the store in Hanover? I'm not far myself if you head over there. Might be fun to see it in person and see their reaction.
