Stopped by for strings and left an hour later to change out of my sweaty, drool-soaked clothes!
My local Guild pusher, Mojo Music has 6 new Guilds displayed front and center so what was I supposed to do, take my strings and leave? I think not! :wink:

On hand/in hand were a New Hartford F50R and an F30; GAD series M120, D150CE, D140, and a D150. Everything, even the GADs, looked/felt/sounded great;
but the F30, with its red spruce top, made my day. Just a beautiful guitar with a great sound, and a price tag that shot down any chance that it would come along for a ride! Dang! Might have to get more strings soon! 8)

This particular dealer has discontinued Martins and features Guilds and Taylors now.
Interesting.

My local Guild dealer does not carry Martin either but did carry Taylor up till recently. So, just like you Joe, I just stop there for strings and buy my guitars elsewhere.

Don't know if it was a 'special run' but I considered a special run to my bank, which is right across the street!!

When I played my first NH guitar, my F412, I realized just how fabulous the new Guilds are. I had gone through a run of bad luck with used instruments, and was sick of dealing with them. A warranty sounded so very, very nice. That's when I started plotting and scheming. All I really need is my four 12-strings (the X-170 was kind of an aberration, my first 6-string). I waited until the right deal came along, put the new guitar on plastic, and sold the one it was replacing. Dipped into Piggy to make up the difference, recovered, and did it again. Only took a couple of years, and these new instruments are just beautiful (and guaranteed, of course!).

I am with you on that. I find great value in buying a new instrument. Yes buying used can save you $, but I enjoy hearing first strum, breaking in the instrument, knowing its whole life history, and having the security of a warranty. All those reasons make the up-charge worth it.

Great Joe! I was just in my music store to pick up strings as well and he's a Guild dealer. He had several newer Guilds hanging. There's a D50 Special thats been on the wall for over a year that I want but I had to run in and out pretty quick then. I'm thinking of an excuse to go back and try'em all this time.... oh yeah, more picks!

I just found out about Union Music in Worcester, MA.
It's the only Guild dealer I've found in the Commonwealth so far.
Can't wait to go. I talked to one of the salesmen the other day
and they have a decent number of NH and GADS.

Oh wait, you mean Massachusetts (and Pennsylvania and Kentucky) are also Commonwealths with Guild dealers?

They have a nice selection, and Karl, the proprietor was at LMG III

Last time I was there they had a D-55, D-50BG, D-40BG, D-40std and an F-512 along with several GAD series guitars
