Hey guys first post here. I just came across the forum while searching for some info on the Guild X models and had a question about this:

X150

Is $1195 a decent BIN for this guitar? Seller states guitar just had a complete setup incuding fret level. Also, this is a '97, would it have a nitro or poly finish? I'm real tempted to jump on this one. Thanks in advance!

Hey, bradk!

This looks like a catalog-worthy example of the X-150! That BIN looks pretty good, too. I think lately they've been for going about $200 - 400 more than that - in excellent condition. Others on the forum might dispute that, in which case it'll be capos at 20 paces  I know one or two have been won for less.

I would only be guessing on the finish - someone much more knowledgable will come along to answer that one - hopefully before the auction is over! I'd guess nitrocellulose.

Anyway, even if I'm completely wrong on all counts - Welcome!
Post well. Post often.

Welcome Brad! I vote you go for it. There's a two-pickup version up on eBay right now also, but Wes only needed a single pickup, so there you go. That one is a cherryburst too, and we all know that blondes have more fun. The price is really good. You might be able to get one a tad cheaper, but you could be waiting awhile. The seller has flawless feedback too, which is a very good thing. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the info. I definitely prefer the blondes(in a guitar anyway) and a single pick up. Heck, I haven't used a bridge pickup in 10 yrs :). I've got a ES137 custom that I bought less than a year ago that I've just not been able to bond with so It's going to the auction block. The X150s look ideal for what I'm searching for.

I'm probably being paranoid but I just searched completed auctions and see that the seller just bought the guitar 2 weeks ago here. No telling why and the seller does seem reputable.

Much appreciated guys!

 Ahh, Brad. Get it! Buy it! Heck, at THAT price, buy TWO!  You have EXCELLENT taste. 8) Plus, you're tracking me . . . only we are drawing opposites - I have all of my Blondes. I was looking for a nice, traditional sunburst and this one knocked my socks off. Jus right!
Here she is and the price was $1350.00.

I'd say you have a deal there.

Say, are you the Brad that has the Ibanez like mine?

She looks innocent enough, but she's a killer!

L4 that's a nice one, congrats! Nope no Ibanez here now. I did play a pre-artcore AM model for years though. It was a nice one.

After I slept on it I decided to hold off on the blonde. I'm being anal but there's just something about the grain on the top I don't like. I did come across this one....

I really want a blonde, 1 pick up but that's gorgeous. He says it's tobacco burst but it looks like a cherry burst to me.

The X150 search continues!

Well, the seller relisted the blonde for $1095 and I couldn't pass it up so I pulled the trigger. Now it's sit and wait for the brown truck time.

Congrats Brad and a full report is required.

The good news is that there will always be guitars available from someone, somewhere, the bad news is that there will always be guitars available from someone, somewhere....

dklsplace & Graham, thanks for the listen and nice words! I'll report back as soon as I get my mitts on her.

Graham, you're right. I'm already thinking I need a SF4 to cover the semi thing. Once I sell my Gibson es137 I'll be on the search for a semi to replace it. It never ends!

I just listened to After Hours. Anybody want to buy a DeArmond X155?
Hang in there, Graham. It'll only take another 15 to 20 years to get to that level. One step at a time and practice every day, Man. Let me know what it feels like, okay?

Nice stuff, Brad!

Brad, we'd love to hear some details about how you record, wheter it's a band thing, what kinds of equipment you're using, etc. Not sure if this is the best thread, but if you'd like to share some thoughts, please do!
