I'm stoked! I finally found the haven of Guild lovers! I grew up learning on an old Guild D25 and have been in love with Guild's ever since. I play a ton of electric now and bought a Blues 90 twice, but just cannot get over the huge neck. It wasn't for me...however, I have been wanting an old M75 so bad now!!

Im just glad I finally have a place to talk shop about these gems. I'm 23, and a lot of folks my age have no idea about Guild's, and I love it! Cheers!

If by freaking place you mean a place filled with Guild freaks, you would be correct... :D

Welcome Sugabear!

Keep tuned there is a lot more going on here than Guild guitars, you might enjoy the banter on all kinds of topics from most of us who are (much) older than you, but just as stoked about Guilds...welcome to the new 'kid' on the block... :D Steffan

Ahhh Coastie, you bring chortles of joyous laughter...and your use of the word 'SALBRIOUS' is , as always, commendable. You Bring salubriation and salubriCATION ...and the occasional intoxication by LIBATION to a sadly non salubrious world. On ya!
I digress and fall into the VEER.........Welcome welcome SB, from SG....yes, its good to have you wise Guilded youngbloods around here, Enjoy! Partake in much of the rolling splender that is LTG.
A FREAKING PLACE!!! Well,.......yep, much freakery, and moments of freakdom abound!
what s that old saying..........."TOO MANY FREAKS, NOT ENOUGH CIRCUSES!!"

Welcome sugabear. :D

You're right about this being a freaky place.
But most of our member are actually rather normal:

Upon seeing this movie did the RAMONES take their call GABBA GABBA HEY!!! its from a chant at the dinner table, where they welcome a new person into the world of freaks....saying over and over "Goooble gobble -gooble gobble ( misspelt as 'gabba gabba')...we accept you, we accept you...one of us,..one of us" then they drink from the great 'loving cup!' THEN it all goes wrong!!!

Welsome to LTG, sugarbear. Don't let these guys frighten you.

They're harmless (and a great bunch of Guild-o-philes)

Dave :D

I wish I knew about Guilds when I was 23. Would've saved me some $$$$, seeing as how that was nearly 13 years ago. Not quite geezer status by the criteria around here.

Welcome. And thanks for posting in the Solid/Chambered section. We need more troops!

LOL, thanks guys!! I feel right at home with all of the jokes and crazy pics! I love it! Yea, i learned how to play guitar on a 73' d25 when I was 13. I beat the hell out of it, but I still have it and love it in the studio for some classic dreadnaught sounds. Now Im 23, and am excited to say I know about some of the best kept secrets in the guitar world, the Guild's. Not that they are necessarily a secret, just overshadowed by a lot of stuff, but hey, it does save us money! ;)

I must also say that since I play mainly electric now, that I have been on the lookout for an old m75 and after a month or two of looking, i finally landed one.... A 69' hollow version. I am so excited right now. I will start a new post once it arrives with pics and such, its not all original, but hey, a 69, are you kidding! yes please!

Well if you weren't frightened off by that welcome, then we expect you to hand around...this place needs a stabling force, and you still seem to have a degree of sanity still available, but I could be wrong... Steffan

Hey Southern, one of my favorites!

Hey SugaBear, ready for the next step in your LTG initiation?

Hope you're a bit more gracious than our last prospective member...

Welcome, sugabear!

The only guitar that I have never sold is my old faithful S-100 RI that I got at the age of 19 back in 1997.

A lot of times when I bring up Guild guitars in other forums they seem to be universally looked down upon as being "inferior" to the more well known companies, when in fact it's the complete opposite. You just can't beat the quality of craftsmanship, and the attention to detail that goes into Guild guitars..not to mention how they sound just plain fantastic.

Sugar:

Welcome. You definitely came to the right place. A fine group here, unusually helpful I find. And open minded. I didn't even have a guild until a few weeks ago, but have hung out here for years. That's a wonderful thing right there.

Course the downside is now I have TWO Guilds, and want more. This place is a GAS pit! So tie yourself to the mast ...
