one night i was at a show, and Norah Jones was in the audience, standing right next to me. The band started playing a song that sounded eerily familiar. I turned around and said "this is one of your songs, right?" and she smiled and said "it's not my song but I sing it with the Little Willies." I said "ahh that's it!" and turned my attention back to the stage. it was this cool moment that we shared. Then, I could never have expected what was about to happen next. Norah started singing the lyrics, along with the band...quietly, into my ear. my head almost exploded as I tried not to smile, and/or cry at the same time. the song was "Pennies on the Floor." she "sang me" the entire song. a night I will never forget!

In a completely unrelated encounter, I discovered the band Lake Street Dive when I literally walked into a bar to take a piss. and they were on fire!! that was about 10 years ago. u just never know!

Good lord. My version of the story would have ended with paramedics hovering over me administering oxygen.

She Who Must Be Obeyed is on a steady diet of Brandi Carlile and Shawn Colvin - good stuff and I enjoy listening along.

Ever since I saw Taylor Swift's solo Tiny Desk concert I changed my thinking about her. Her two pandemic albums (evermore and Folklore) are worth the listen.

I recently picked up several Michaela Anne CD's that are in heavy rotation in the car. I'm a sucker for Nashville singer-songwriters, and she's a good one.
