Honestly? Wow. Seeing it in the Juiced online store just made me laugh.

When you live near the beach you see them all the time!

Lost you there, Grot. I presume you're referring to some kind of weird acrobatics?

Are you a Steve McQueen fan by any chance?

Chazmo, I might consider one of those bikes if they were available with one of those larger seats with the springs under of the cushion. My "Tushy" can't handle those narrow seats any more, the boyz complain. I use to ride a 12 speed about 40 miles a week but the seat is now too uncomfortable.
Really nice looking wheels...best of luck with it. Is there a key operated dead switch?

They only sell them with the one type of saddle, Walt. It really is a mountain fat bike. But, of course, you can always replace the saddle. They offer a spring-loaded seat post too as an option.

You can easily turn off the battery, which is key-locked into the frame. Even without that, the bike is programmable for a certain amount of minutes to turn itself off. Unless you know how to use the controller, you wouldn't even be able to turn it on (it's not obvious). And, finally, I now have an Apple Airtag embedded in the battery so that if someone walks away with it, I'll be able to track it.

All of that is a complicated answer to a simple question... If someone wants the bike, they'll be able to take it. If I were in an urban area, I'd probably have a chain lock or something... Also not fool-proof, but security is not a big issue for me where I live.

I may put some more thought into that question once I have a trailer hitch installed on my car so I can take the bike with me. Right now, I start/end at home. :)

Before his retirement, Don rode his bicycle to work every day. Bicycle theft in Vegas is CRAZY!! He had it chained to the fence in the parking lot of Diagnostic Imaging. They came with something and cut the chain and took his bike. So he got one of those locks that it's almost impossible to cut or open. So they came and actually sawed the section of fence off and took the bike, the lock, and the fence section!! So he got it cleared to bring the bike inside and store it in one of the seldom used conference rooms. But that's 3 bikes!!:eek:

Looked into renting mountain bikes teh last time we visited Vegas. Ended up going hiking instead.

Motorcycle jumping barbed wire was from The Great Escape. Bullitt is Mustang jumping rollers in San Fran.

Fat tire bikes give you a more suspension than rear suspension does - it's all that air in them fat tires. I was on a group ride a few years ago and could not follow the lines a guy riding a fat tire was taking through some rock gardens on my FS xc 29er. For those not familiar with mountain biking that means a full suspension, cross country, 29" wheel bike.

For those of you who are waiting for some follow-up, I apologize but I've been away from home this week... It's not for want of desire to be on the bike this week! :D :D

The good news is that I've been walking my patootie off in the California (Bay Area) hills. So, the "getting back in shape" theme has not vanished. :D

I'm hoping to get some riding updates out to you next week. Maybe some pix from a trail or something! :)

One of the things I like about California (at least the places I’ve been) is the ability to walk a lot.

And, back in the day (for me), ride... mountain bikes, that is.

Love the BA, GAD. I lived out here a couple of times in the past. There's a lot of beauty out where I live in central MA, but the BA is a whole other story.

Hey Chaz!

I saw this video and thought of you. I've heard of and seen videos of people making rail bikes to venture out on abandoned railroad tracks, especially to visit old trestle bridges and tunnels.

This guy documents his adventure down along the CA central coast. A serious electric bike like yours offers some nice possibilities for adventure. I thought you might find it as interesting as I did.

He also posted a video of his sophisticated rail bike build.

I just upgraded the bike's controller (to maximize the bike's potential). Below are pictures of the install. Took a couple of hours. GAD would be proud on how well I dressed the cables! Bottom line is that the online instructions are perfect. Anyway, time to have some lunch and go out for a long ride after.

Sorry the multiple file uploader seems to grab them in reverse chronological order. Anyway, start at the end of the list, I guess.

Do you have to carry a pocketful of AA batteries with you in case you run out of juice? ;)
