I'm hoping to check out a 78' S-60D off craigslist but I've never tried a guild solid body guitar before. Have two Westerly acoustic and Hoboken X-50 but have yet to play any of the S series, etc. DO lots of people like them? What styles are they best suited for? Are they versatile? The one I'm looking at has two humbuckers but does say S-60d on Truss rod cover so that means it must be modded right?

I tried the search engine but came up with little so if theres another extensive thread on these guitars I'd be happy to just get a link to that too.

Thanks in advance,

Dylan

S60s come in 2 formats from memory - 2 x single coil or 1 x bridge humbucker. The S60D notation indicates it was the latter with a Dimarzio pickup, so yeah, probably modded. How many Volume/Tone knobs does it have? A pic would be helpful.

IIRC, the S65 had the HB1, no?

Whatever it was called, my first guild was one of those. It's the one to get. :)

Yes, I think DRC had a black one like that.
