Uncased "the boys" this evening to let 'em drink up from the humidifier. New England is doing its usual crazy weather thing.

Anyway, thought I'd share... There's a Guild among this clan, I assure you. :) Happy holidays.

Thanks, Cap!!!

That alligator case is standard with the Taylor GS series, by the way. It's terrific. Really a snug fit with the guitar.

Beautiful. So do those cheap $5 humidifier things really work during the winter? I have one and I use it, but I don't want to skimp on a humidifier for an expensive guitar...

Thanks, guys.

Huitz, the damp-its work great. But, around here, you have to wet them weekly.

The guy lays out all those acoustic beauties and all you notice is the case?!?!?!? I'm surprised you didn't comment on the Costco size package of toilet paper rolls in the third picture!

Tee hee!!!! :) I've been turning that room into "my" room over the last year or so. It's a man thing. The wife has to respect it. Besides, what better guitar stand is there?! :D

Very nice, chazmo! How about that Favilla? Back in the mid '60s I saw and played a few Favilla 12ers. They were making them when few others were. They were also very nice playing and sounding guitars. I've often wondered how they've held up, and is anyone still playing them?

Good friend of mine has a Favilla 6-string, he also has a few high end guitars, every time I am over there I go straight to the Favilla, great sounding guitar. No idea of year, but it is quite old. Every now and then I check the bay for one, haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet though..........yet

I've never, ever seen a Favilla 12, guys. Very cool. I would love to try one.

Favilla stopped building in their New York location sometime in the late 60s or early 70s, and started importing Japanese guitars under their name combined with Aquila, I think.

My model, the C-5, is all solid 'hog, and a lovely sounding nylon 6-stringer, made in NY. It's a sweet instrument, although I let it dry out most unfortunately over the last decade and it developed a crack completely down the back of the instrument. Recently, I had had it braced and it's OK, but I'm afraid some permanent creasing of the soundboard occurred which simply will not rebound as I have been humidifying it all year. But it plays great. It's going to my son, who has expressed an interest in learning which I'd like to foster. ALso, since both my mom and I learned on that warhorse, it's got sentimental value.

Hey C, I've actually never seen a 12-er either, my friends is a sixer. I'll try to get a pic to post with model number. Great little beater. I know it was made in NY, steel stringer, thats about it, other than it sounds pretty good for a git that flys under the radar. I believe, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, they were more known for their mandolins. Ooops....edit....I meant ukes, not mandos......

Have a friend with an old Favilla 6 string. Don't remember the model. Played it a couple years back when visiting over the holidays.

I'm surprised so many of you have heard of Favilla. They've been gone a long time.
My friends Favilla is a model F8, great little guitar. ( I gave him a call for the model#)
BTW, my friend with the Favilla is Ed Kauf, the one given a couple of photo credits on that site link. 8)
