Getting to Slaughterhouse Falls was fairly easy....go north out of town and turn right on Cemetery Lane. When the road crosses the Roaring Fork River, turn left into a parking lot. Take a right on the rails-to-trails path and go about half a mile. When you reach a small pond on the right, the falls will be slightly behind you.Just a note to those JD fans. the river there is not a thing to ignore if you want to duplicate the photo. At times it is under water. Even when exposed, it is generally wet and wet rock is slick rock. The river is also cold and the bottom is rocky. Falling in the water will be "memorable" but not likely enjoyable.... (perhaps an unexpected low to ones planned Rocky Mountain High!). Be safe and have fun.
