I sold my buddy's F5CE last year for $825 to another lefty friend of ours. Had it been right-handed, I probably woulda bought i myself!

Beautiful wood on that, Dread - wow!
One F25 CE back at you - looks like your friend's F5 with
mahogany in place of of rosewood, plain headstock
decoration and earlier electronics.

Yeah, I guess maybe it's rosewood, looks a lot like Hog, but RW varies.
Yeah, I figured if they're both stained pretty dark you may have never really noticed the difference.
I thought one of these models was flat back? Also, isn't there a similar model that is milled out, neither of these are? 🥴
You may have seen one finished in black with satin finish, although I don't recall ever seeing such a combo. But no, all of the "Fxxce" 's are traditional acoustic construction.

Only the S4ce/ Songbird uses a solid piece of mahogany routed out to make the body, and its based on Gruhn's Nightbird body, fitted with an acoustic and fully routed instead of chambered:

I know they look almost the same as the F-series, in fact very early on I thought they were the same body outline too. But note the horn of the cutaway's a bit different, and those Songbird bodies aren't 16" lower bout, closer to 15" so more F30 sized if anything.

Fxxce's are all 16" lower bout jumbo. I consider 'em to be part of the F40 family because of that outline. ;)

Oh wow, another example of using 2 sheets of rosewood and laminating 'em to the center layer to be able to get a "press-able" back. That 2-piece appearance has caused some folks to think those backs are actually solid, glued at edge and pressed, but that just wouldn't work.

My F5CE, it has a spruce top:

My Songbird, sold it a while back, never thought I would (temporary pickup mod I had for a while):
