Dear friends of the Guild family;

one more time I am looking forward for your experiences withe these above mentioned models.

To cut the question short: Which model do you like best for finger-picking; maybe you can put it in a row; best to seond best, etc.

Thanks a lot - and greetings across the Big River

Jan-Peter,

The F50 and "R" version are big jumbos -- they're the 6-string equivalent of my F512, which is a pretty "honkin" beast. The pictures I saw of the CV-1 looked like this would be an easier guitar to handle, from a fingerstyle point of view. And folks have been raving about this model. Best wishes in your hunt.

I agree with this generally: the CV-1, other F-40 bodies and F-30s would be the most traditional fingerstyle shapes.
But, ..... for fun you should visit this site below and scroll down to the Guild link and listen to the recordings of the new F-50R and D-50BG being played fingerstyle. The F-50 in particular just floored me. - I'm considering having a shoulder lift done just to enable me to play this baby comfortably!

Hi J-P,

The CV-1 is the F-40 size body, which is a very comfortable "mid-size". The 1 & 3/4 neck is very conducive for finger-picking and for folks with large hands and fingers like me. It is a very fine guitar in all respects and I highly recommend it.

As Chaz said, the F-50 models are larger guitars and are also excellent, whether you fancy vintage or Tacoma products. They have the traditional 1 & 11/16 neck width, but I have found this can vary by neck design and the way the nut is cut in different models.

Good luck and happy hunting!
