Hey all.

I just bought a new rosewood F-47 (made in Tacoma) and the thing is amazing. It really has no weaknesses: loud, punchy, crisp. And the red spruce top is about the nicest one I've ever seen-- looks like sitka the grain is so uniform. Makes me wonder where they get such good stuff!

Anyone else played one of these? For about $1500 out the door, they are an incredible value. It is really giving my '65 D-40 a run for its money (and the rest of my stable too!). It's now my "go to" guitar-- the one I always tend to pick up to noodle around the house. It's not really the bluegrass machine my Collings or Martin is (nor should it be), but for everything else, its awesome.

Guild is back!

That's high praise considering your line up. I would love to try the F47 in maple.

The local store where I bought this Guild (Midtown Music in Atlanta) has a maple one too. It also is incredible. Not quite as smooth or complex sounding as the rosewood model, but man it shoots the sound out-- it definitely has that great direct maple tone.

Congratulations Tres!
Yes, I would like to try one in both rosewood and maple and compare it to my CV-1C. I really like the size and feel of the F-40s.
