On today's playlist. It was made in Oxnard, but I still refuse to call it what they call it. It will always be an F-412 to me. :)

Hey, GG... Is that a rosewood bridge, or streaked ebony? I ask because I though F-412s had ebony? Not sure...

^ Well, ignore my post above as I appear to be wrong. The specs for Oxnard's "F-412 by another name" says rosewood for the bridge, and I see from pictures of an F-412 in Tacoma that they used rosewood there too. :)

Thanks! Yes, I will very occasionally plug it in and the LR Baggs microphone/transducer system works well and is intuitive to use. The sound is pretty darn good. Still, to me it's an acoustic guitar so that's mainly how I use it.

Actually, my Corona F-412 had a rosewood bridge and I think the earliest F-412s (late '60s to early 70s) did as well. I've spoken to several luthiers (high end guitars) that actually prefer rosewood to ebony for bridges on certain models that they build. It's a thing! 🤓

I prefer rosewood to ebony, personally. My special F-412 from Tacoma has ebony. But, yeah, apparently rosewood has been part of both the F-412 and F-512 for a while.

That's really odd, because my Corona made JF30-12 had an ebony bridge! Go figure...

Sandy, probably the JF30-12 had different "specs."
It did, but ostensibly, the JF30-12 is lower in the product range than the F412. You would think (but hey. this is Guild we're talking about) that the lower priced model wouldn't have a more expensive bridge than the higher priced model.

I'm not sure that ebony vs. rosewood bridge maps that way, Sandy, but hey... Indeed, this is Guild we're talking about. :)

Well, traditionally ebony is used for top tier guitars in the range. Note the difference with the Guild D40 and D50, and (excluding recent versions) the Martin D18 and D28. both the D40 and D18 had rosewood fretboards, as opposed to the D50/D28's ebony.

Have you used the LR Baggs electronics?
I forgot to add that I also will play the guitar plugged in when the strings are dead. I can EQ some "zing" back into the sound. Either I'm clever or just too lazy to change the strings. :p

I think @Cougar's is ebony as well.

(Another chance for him to show it off!!)
