Great clip! His guitar looks like a Gruhn design with the diamond inlays, but the headstock looks more "custom" - any ideas what that is?

John Hartford was one of those special human beings who just seem to breathe musicality. An inspired guitarist, songwriter, banjo player, fiddler and dancer.

Somewhere online I found a PDF of the Fretboard Journal article where that guitar is mentioned. I'll keep looking for it . . .

But if I remember correctly it's one of the very first F44s

Mine's not one of the very first, but I don't love it any less. I need to work on my stage moves though.
