howdy friends!

i need you advice please.
here in germany we could regulary have a GUILD DV-4 which is made in mexico. here, it is around 850,00 euros, which is a bit more than 1000.00 US$.

right now someone from GB offers me a GUILD DV-4 which was made in Tacoma USA (i could read it from the label inside). the Tacoma-DV-4 is used but in like new condition.

my question is, what (if any)are the difference between the mexico made DV-4 and the Tacoma made DV-4?

thank you in advance.

Hello Ike,
If it were me, the choice would be quite easy. I'd prefer the Tacoma crafted DV-4. My only concern would be if the original guitar serial number has been removed and the instrument marked 'USED'. That would be readily obvious...

Very little info here in 'Member Reviews' about the Mexico manufactured Guilds. In fact; I can't think of a member who owns one, although I'm sure there must be someone here.

Good luck.

Looks good from here, Ike. If it sounds good with those extra lite strings, it will sound even beter with lights...

Let us know how it goes.

Best,
Ken

Hallo Nachbar!
I have not played one of the Mexican DV4s yet, but I love my Tacoma DV4. For me it sounds best with John Pearse LM650 (phosphor bronze bluegrass)
Markus :D
