Think you meant "350" but yeah, that was the year compression went way down and they went to a notorious "Soft" (alloy) cam.I had a '73 Cutlass with a 305, for about 2 weeks. Definitely had potential and great looks despite failing gaskets and the faded maroon paint.
Mazda Miata RF.What is that?
2021 Miata MX-5 GT RF. Called "a hard top convertible", cause the roof comes up, goes back and into the body of the car at the touch of a button. Targa like. What is that?
Those are SOOO cool. I'm a Caddy whore!! But they're so BIG and even when I was young they were getting old by the time I was driving so I never had one. One of my fave things is the gas went in through the driver's side taillight!! Push that little round reflector thing in, and the whole assembly hinged up and there was the gas cap!! I actually saved a guy who one time rented one and he and the gas station attendants (when they had such things) were walking all around the car scratching their heads trying to figure out where the gas went. When I punched the reflector and flipped the taillight up, they went, "Well, I'll be.... "
Selling my '63 MKII was one of my worst moves.3000 MKIII, what a car! Serious ultimate dream car.
Steelman, my grandparents had a Hudson exactly like that one!! Such a cool car!!No Backache-mobiles (i. e. sports of muscle cars) for this tall guy. I'm with DrumBob: 1950s cars all the way. I had a few of these . . . .
I always thought that the Series 1 E-Types looked so much nicer, with the minimalist bumpers, and the glass over the headlights. My bestie's brother had one of the coveted three carburetor '66s, and I had the honor of being in the car with him when it had a minor electrical fire. Looked just like this one.One of my other top 5 most beautiful cars of all time usually makes those "10 most..." lists.
My mother had a 1971 Jaguar E-type v-12 4-speed convertible, looked just like this:
One of the few convertibles that look just as good with the top up:
The engine bay said: "Before you dive in, do you really know what you're doing?" :
Need a pre-flight checklist before take-off:
Took her out to dinner in San Francisco for her 40th B-day, she let me drive going up. Nice 3-4 lane freeway with gentle sweeper turns, designed in the era when 70+ mph traffic speeds were anticipated. Car would do 90 in 3rd gear at about 3500 rpm on a 5000 redline. Then she reeled me in. Was to be mine some day but cancer demolished the family estate.
Mama was the one who first told me she kept her tires at 38 psi on a 32 psi chassis spec (40psi max cold rated Dunlops), for better handling and braking in her driving patterns, ie "Grand Touring" style cruising.
Nor any other car with a Lucas ("the inventor of darkness") electrical system. The old joke is that the British drink warm beer because Lucas makes refrigerators.Electrical fires in Jaguars are not exactly uncommon.
Lotta people think the '81 Seville was the beginning of their downfallI'm not that big on speed so much. I always liked the Luxo-cruisers. Caddies. I had two 1963's and two 1965's. Such nice cars. I'd buy 'em and then clean them up and detail the hell out of them and then fix a couple of minor things and then move them on. Fun for me.
Then my favorite car of all time was my 78 CDV. What a cool car!! Turned heads and was just so fun to drive!!
Have I got a car for you:Those are SOOO cool. I'm a Caddy whore!!
