Any word yet?

Just got a brief text: "We are okay but it was really rough. Still don't know where we are ending up. I'll call when I can".

So he and his wife are at least alive. That's the main thing. I suspect their house may be gone, but for now can only keep fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Thank you for asking!

My Florida geography is challenged but @mellowgerman is in Orlando and hasn't visited since Wednesday so I'm guessing that, at best, he is playing his Guilds acoustically while waiting for power to be restored.
Everyone in my family is safe, which is most important. My brother and my parents live right around where the eye made landfall, so it was definitely stressful. We did all we could to prepare here just north of Orlando, but because our city is unbelievably negligent when it comes to planning and maintaining competent storm drainage, our entire first floor had a river flowing through it (even though we live nowhere near a flood zone) and we are now in the process of gutting it all. That said, no instruments or music related things were harmed, we are safe, the cats are safe, and we still have a dry and comfortable upstairs to inhabit temporarily. We also only lost power for a few minutes, so all in all, it could have certainly been worse.

Glad you and your family are okay.

Must be a relief to get a message. Glad they got through it.

I just went through a batch of photos of Naples, FL. The destruction is unfathomable. So much devastation and mayhem. It's just awful.:eek:

I saw a few pictures of Naples, but I've had a pretty fair (firsthand)look at much of Lee county particularly Bonita springs Fort Myers and North Fort Myers; it's pretty devastating
