Saw the man perform last night...as a steller as ever. The room was filled with the great sounds of various Godin Guitars. who now sponsors him. What was incredible was the Godin amp! A very small 150 watt amp that filled the place with all the sound you could ask for...crisp and clean probably the best sounding amp I've ever heard... now I know what I'll be saving for..gotta love a night out with Doyle. ;-)

I can't believe you're so excited about a puny little 150 watt amp.
You, who was actually there, back in the day.....

Stefan,

An evening with Doyle, what a treat! I have not yet sampled one of those Acoustic Solutions amplifiers. I like the packaging (it's Italian - what's not to like) and look forward to hearing one. Two channels, phantom power, built-in effects, effects loop, Class A headphone amp, etc. plus 150 watts! Here are a couple of photos:

Not to worry, Al. The Italians mastered that visual "leaning" thing ages ago...

Doyle had about 6 or 7 models the store supplied...the electric 12 was awesome but they all were.that little amp is awesome and 8" speaker I think. I almost tripped over it looking for the amplifier lol. It didn't even come up to my knee.

As I believe Chris will agree, Godin puts out some great stuff.

I *do* agree, AJ! And you just did it again - I got to thinking about our Godin guitars and I realized I have never owned a steel string Multiac. Not sure why not, exactly, but I have been toying with the idea of picking one up. The Spectrum adds a tempting Lipstick humbucker and Synth Access, while the Duet Ambiance has the yummy sounding Aura microphone imaging. I wonder what they would sound like through the Acoustic Solutions amp... Hmm... ;~}

The Godin amps are built by Schertler. Swiss company with their manufacturing facility in Italy.

I purchased the Schertler Jam 400 a few month ago. An amazing acoustic amp!

Chris..the ambience was simply amazing..like a fine acoustic through these high end microphones and you can blend them....also the electric 12...incredible...
But that 8"speaker in that small an amp filling the place...hard to believe.

150 watts is a LOT for an acoustic guitar. Actually a lot for an electric too. The bass players will think otherwise, but they play in a much lower spectrum and need more power to move big speakers. My old Randall amp is a 110 watt I think, and I haven't turned it up passed a 2 for the clean channel. Thins in my guitar room start to rattle pretty bad, at that point.

Checking out these amps, right now. Sounds like something I'd be interested in. They make a 75 watt one as well. Simpler and probably more my speed. They're not cheap, but..... Thanks, Steffan, for the heads up!!

Seriously thinking of that one too Tom. Plug your phone or music player into it..voila you are part of the band. I like that it's so small..my back loves that.lol.
