Ive never heard one, but i know those pickups are popular with shredders. Are the SF-4d guitars solely a shredding axe? How does it compare to the usual starfire 4s and up?

The SF4D add a little bite to the bridge with the Dimarizo and overtone harmonic feedback. I find it has a great tone for modern blues styles where the amps are a crankin!

The neck position doesn't sound all that different from the Guild SF5 I have.

I can clearly say NO to twangy. If you want a Twangy Guild with humbuckers I recommend you find one of the special X170's with the coil tap. That guitar is capable of twangy. If you want it to be a Starfire 4 type then get a SF 4 and alter it with a coil tap.

im envious of your sf5. The reason im curious abou the sf4d is because i cant find a 5. The one i saw has block inlays and a master. I figured id slap a bigsby on it and swap out the bridge pup for a mini hb, and id have myself an SF5. Im skeptical that the different pup sizes wont let it be that easy though
