Hi: New guy here. I figured this was the best place to i.d. some old Guild pups I had stashed. I used to work in a music store and the only thing I can imagine is someone probably installed some PAF's or something and pulled the entire harness out. What Guild might have had a coil splitter switch tho? Any? (From the 70's)

Might trade these parts....

thanks!

Hello GuildGuilty,

Welcome! The dating code on the pots will give you a manufacturing date for the pots. However my research shows that Guild often used pots that were much older than the guitar but at least you will have a date that might give an indication of the approx.period.
The coil splitter does look like it was added at a later date, but I'm just going by the type of the mini switch.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

These pots are weird. They don't follow any of the pot i.d. references I've seen so far. They have:
U-53 #Q11

With the # sign stamped in also. Only three are there. The fourth has been replaced be a 1377620.

I have not seen the TGP reply yet.

Thanks.

Hey there. I was just checking back here, and I noticed that three of the pots in that harness appear to be solid shaft which would mean there is no possible way they could all be original. If you don't have a use for that switch and tip... Actually, the whole bundle could be put to good effect.

Sorry for the lack of responses, holiday and all that. Like Dane said, it looks like the pots have been changed out. Looks like these are HB-1's? They might be a good match for a X-170 that's on the bay about now that had the controls removed.
If you're looking to trade, what are you interested in?

I'm interested in '63 to '65 Reverse Firebird parts. Or, any early Fender amp goodies. Throw me some ideas and maybe we can hit on something.
