Did she just say I should get a fretless bass?

Was listening to this song (attached below).
The silence in the room was only interrupted by the sound of my wife folding paper stars.
Suddenly, out of the silence, I heard my wife’s voice. She said:
“This bass sounds different…”
Me: “Yes, it is a fretless bass.”
Wife: “Maybe you should get one….”.
😮😲😀
And just the other day I was thinking of converting a bass to fretless. But better to buy an actual fretless, I guess.

Yes, you want one. I've had one since 4 years in (the Lesh M-85). EVERYBODY should want one. But don't be disappointed when you don't immediately sound like Eberhard Weber.

Eberhard is credited as playing double bass on Mother Stands for Comfort. But I will stick to a fretless bass!!😀👍

Tell her that the fretless ones are way quieter: you can hardly hear them at all!

That would be cool to hear!!!😀👍
You can upload your track to SoundCloud and they let you do it for free up to a certain limit of data. It’s easy to do. Then you can copy and paste the link of your track to here.

Disclaimer- this wasn't supposed to be a really serious song or recording. It was a challenge on a recording forum where you're supplied with a drum track and given 48 hours to produce a recording. I was immediately informed I accidentally ripped off 'Silent Night'. Anyway listen in for a minute or so -if you can- to hear the '70 Starfire fretless.

Very proggie! I think I like it !
And while I could hear a slight resemblance, I don't think it sounds that much like Silent Night
