Looking at this DCE1. I have no idea on prices because i rarely see one for sale...not that i would think its rare. I would think the gold hardware and amber burst finish adds appeal to some. Also has the fishman prefix pro. Prob a good gigging guitar. Made in RI in 97'. Mahogany and spruce. Arched back. So...what does everyone think on a price?

thanks all

I had a DCE1 for nine years and for much of that time it was my main live guitar. In short, I think they are fine, solid instruments. It's not a super-nuanced sounding guitar, but it does have a very full and balanced sound - and at least one of my bandmates actually preferred it to my F44. It's very solid strummer, and I actually thought mine held up pretty well to finger-picking. The Fishman electronics are exceptional. I know a lot of folks don't like onboard electronics, but I'd argue that it makes it 100 times easier to make adjustments on the fly when playing live.

The only caveat I'll offer is that you should check the string height vs. how much saddle is left, as that was a problem on mine. I ended up shaving down the bridge, but even that left me me with a rather low saddle. But, I've seen plenty of other of DCE1s with no issues whatsoever.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if it's in good condition and structurally sound.

If you have any other questions, just let me know,

-Chris

I sold mine for $350, but it had a neck angle issue, and alas I didn't have any documentation for a warranty claim (it's probably sitting in a file cabinet at a long lost ex-girlfriends apartment).
