I used to be big into darts. Steel tips, of course. I was on teams that played in league play -- our local bar would play against neighboring bars. All organized by the Southern California Dart Association. With practice, I got pretty good. I won a local tournament or two. I've hit three triple-20s hundreds of times. I've got a mug for hitting a 170-on in league play - double bull, trip 20, trip 20. Only once did I hit three double bulls (playing cricket). A single bull is about the size of a quarter. A double bull is about the size of a dime. You throw from 7 feet 9.25 inches. I started going to the bigger tournaments -- the L.A. Open, the North American Open in Vegas. But never really did much in those big tourneys.
So I was straightening up some boxes the other day and found my darts. There's a bar up in Sandpoint with a dartboard -- I figured I'd go and throw some, see how they fly....
OMG, playing darts is NOT like riding a bicycle. I was worse than a beginner! I had NOTHING going on. Yeah, I could hit the board, but that was about it. Oh, well. I finished my beer and left, lol.
