I lived in the Southwest for a few years and developed an affinity for turquoise so I wondered if I could customize my D50.
Seems like I've seen a few high-end Guilds with similar trappings/bling on the fingerboard, etc.

Just pondering,

You also seem to be picking up my affinity for the backsides of necks. Especially right where they meet the "'head"stock. NIce trick of the light. Seriously though haven't I seen someone's custom inlaid TRC around here? Just can't remember who. It'd be a nice non-invasive detail. :)

A couple of years ago, I did a little work on a guitar and sent her on to Caostie in New Zealand. The next thing you know, I receive one of these in the mail. I can't remember who Gary buys them from, but you might PM him and ask.

Coastie can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that TRC was made by Bill Nichols.... If not, Bill could certainly make you one. Dave

I agree, a Nichols truss rod cover is a nice addition and you can personalize it as much as you want. Ebony trc with turquoise inlay maybe? And you're not actually modifying the guitar, either.

Yeah from what I read here Joe's pretty particular about mod-ing his axes...

Wow... thanks for posting the link to Nichols. I've been looking for someone to inlay a piece of ebony on another (non-Guild) guitar tailpiece and he looks like just the guy. COOL!!
