I picked up a 1991 d4 guitar and as this is my first guild acoustic I was wondering how this model compares to other guild's in this class and if there is somebody that could recommend what strings to use to bring out the best sound. ( not loud but full )

Hey kydog, I'm not familiar with the D4 but I understand they are similar to a D-25. Laminate back, solid sides, full size dread.

As for strings, this has been talked about over and over, you'll find something that you like if you keep looking, but I like the John Pearse lights. Either 80/20 or Phosphor Bronze.

Hey Kydog,
I had a 1995 D4 and loved it. Shortly after purchasing my F47 last December, I decided to sell it. I took it to friend who works at a local music store to see what he thought of it. After playing it, he said "Forget listing... Sold!!!" I see him every now and then and he goes on and on how well he likes it. Great guitar...
