Hello kydog,
Yes the D-4 and the D-25 were the same guitar. If the guitar had any blemishes that the hand rub could not hide then it became a D-25 with a myriad of finish options.

so what you are saying is all they made was the d25, and if it was not up to satisfaction they just put a d4 label on instead .

Just the opposite is how it sounds.

D4's don't seem to be rare, I've been noticing a few. Saw a brand new Tacoma D4 in the local shop today for about $750.

This one is 1500 miles closer than the last, probably less than 60 miles, but it's $125 more.

Ad was posted today at 1:57 PM. I dunno if it's Gloss or HR, lable says NT. I've never seen a D4 in anything but HR.

Local D4 market isn't bothering me too much, this however is causing me some anxiety. By rights this ought to smoke my G37 & I love the sound of my G37,. Lucky for the Arlington budget it's a couple hour drive.

Arched back you know, ..big sucker.
